Job Purpose To demonstrate the love of Christ to all who walk through our doors. The receptionist is the first person to interact with all of our patient’s families and must embody the love of Christ in all interactions with co-workers and patients alike. To process patients efficiently and to ensure the fluidity of practice operations by providing office organizational support. Under the direct supervision of the Nursing coordinator, participates in patient care and health education and assists medical providers in examining, treating, and managing patients.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish is required
  • Commitment to the Mission and Vision of LifeSpring Community Health
  • MA Certification preferred
  • Experience with urban culture preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google Docs; ability to quickly learn other computer software
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work as a team and remain task-focused individually

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Front Office Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Check voicemail
  • Prepare for the day’s scheduled patients (labels, assembling paperwork, check insurance, etc.)
  • Answer phone calls and schedule patient appointments
  • Call patients who are overdue for EPSDT screens
  • Responsible for patient check-in/out & scheduling next appointments
  • Upload medical documents to patient charts
  • Collect patient payments & reconcile payments at the close of business each day
  • Follow up on pending records requests weekly
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings & weekly front office meetings to increase office efficiency
  • Interpreting as necessary
  • All other tasks as assigned

Clinical Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Patient intake (vital signs, subjective information)
  • Administer vaccines as ordered by the provider and document accordingly
  • Administer nebulizer treatments and use spirometry for all asthma-related visits
  • Perform screening tests (vision, hearing, lead, Hgb testing, transcutaneous bilirubin)
  • Collect and perform rapid laboratory tests as ordered by the provider.
  • Collect, prepare, and send specimens for outgoing laboratory tests.
  • Document and Bill in EHR for nursing visits such as
  • weight checks and immunizations.
    • Perform other duties as required
