history

LifeSpring began as "The Children's Clinic at St. Andrew's" in 2006. Dr. Michele Pickett, along with a team of like minded individuals, opened the clinic with the mission of serving uninsured children in urban Chattanooga who lacked access to medical care. For five years, The Children's Clinic provided part-time primary care for children in the Highland Park neighborhood, initially as a ministry of New City Fellowship and then as an incubated ministry of Hope for the Inner City.

In 2011, LifeSpring Community Health became its own 501(c)3 non-profit organization, moving from the St. Andrew's Center to its current location at 2507 McCallie Ave., in the former office of retired pediatrician Dr. Minnie Vance. This building provided LifeSpring with room to see more patients and to expand our services to those with insurance. In 2016, LifeSpring purchased this building on McCallie Ave., ensuring our continued presence and commitment to the children and families of urban Chattanooga.
